DIALOGUE, LPC Center, New York City
The concept is dialogue. Two new volumes were added to the existing historical building and twisted to follow the city and neighborhood grid. To keep continuity with the below volume, part of the boxes were cut off. The large opening provided an open view for the public.
The new renovation follows the NYC history of stack and grid system to set up a strong connection with local and city.
The exterior facade has remained and the interior is replaced by a ramp system.
The hearing hall is twisted towards the park to build up a link between two public spaces.
